Henry David Thoreau

"If a person does not keep pace with their companions, perhaps it is because they hear a different drummer. Let them step to the music they hear, however measured or far away."

I like this quote. I am always in front or in back of my companions but seldomly side by side with them. In order to be a real friend, I need to be by their side while also moving to my own drum. Never shall I lose my individuality while being part of a friendship or relationship.
